Fireworks light up the sky at Family Fest in La Grange

LA GRANGE — Cooler temperatures and sunny skies giving way to starlight drew lots of fireworks fans to Gordon Park in La Grange July 20 for the Park District of La Grange’s 11th annual Family Fest celebration.
The afternoon began with children’s activities, including pony rides, face painting, bouncy houses for jumping, games and a petting zoo.
Student DJs from WLTL FM-88.1, Lyons Township High School’s radio station, did a live remote broadcast, and the cover band, Who Knew, performed later in the evening.
Area restaurants provided refreshments, including La Cabanita, DeVries Backyard BBQ, Panda Express, DiNico’s Pizza and frozen treats from Fannie May.
A fireworks display at dusk capped the evening.
