Letter: Garden Club extends gratitude

The officers and members of the Western Springs Garden Club are grateful to all that allowed the club to have a very successful fundraiser, the Garden Club Plant Sale, on May 12. They’re also grateful to the Village of Western Springs for the use of the Tower Green, the Police Department for their support, the LaGrange Highlands Boy Scout Troop 216 for their Friday night sleep over, the Doings for publicity, and all the non-members who generously donated plants. Despite the heavy rain, plant enthusiasts were out looking for the right plants to add to their gardens and others were shopping for last minute Mother’s Day gifts. Return customers said it always rains at our sales but they wouldn’t miss it! The club appreciates their return support and everyone who worked together to make the plant sale an outstanding success. It is the public that makes our scholarships possible.
