Western Springs student named National Merit Finalist

LAGRANGE PARK — Sarah Swade of Western Springs, a senior at Nazareth Academy, has achieved finalist status in the National Merit Scholarship Program.
In choosing the final winners, members of the National Merit Scholarship Committee evaluate the academic record, information about the school’s curricula and grading system, two sets of test scores, the high school official’s written recommendation, information about the student’s activities and leadership, and the finalist’s own essay.
