Lyons Township High School poms to host clinic

The Lyons Township High School Pom squads are proud to announce their second annual Fall Game Day Clinic for girls age 8-11 on Sept. 14. The clinic will begin at 3:30 p.m. in south campus gyms 1 and 2, and the performance is scheduled to begin at about 5:30 p.m. during halftime of the boys’ sophomore football game at South Campus Bennett Field.

Registration for the event is at 5:30 p.m. Aug. 29 in the North Campus Fieldhouse foyer, 100 S. Brainard Ave. La Grange. Space is limited. Each adult may register no more than two participants. The cost for this fundraising event is $45.

Participants will learn a dance, perform a routine at halftime of the sophomore football game, receive pizza, a set of poms, a T-shirt and a picture with their pommer, and get the chance to bond with the freshman, sophomore and varsity pom squads.

Forest Hill news

Forest Hill School will host the following events at the school, 5020 Central Ave., Western Springs.

• Sept. 5; Forest Hills Curriculum Night, sponsored by Forest Hills PTA; all parents attend and teachers present grade level curriculum in their classrooms; general greeting in the gym; 6:15-7:45 p.m.

• Sept. 18; Forest Hills Run for the Hills kickoff assembly, sponsored by Forest Hills PTA, 2:30 p.m. in the gym

• Sept. 25; Forest Hills Annual “Hike or Bike to School” for Fun and Fitness, sponsored by Forest Hills PTA and PE instructor Carrie Prevolos.
