Alexandra Stratis, a resident of Burr Ridge, was welcomed as a new member of The National Society of Collegiate Scholars. The society is a member of the Association of College Honor Societies and is the nation’s only interdisciplinary honors organization for first and second-year college students. Membership is by invitation only, based on grade point average and class standing.
Cornell University announced the following students graduated with the Class of 2012 during commencement ceremonies in Ithaca, N.Y. recently:

Meaghan Cassin, artium baccalarius degree in classics;
Frances Ciolino, bachelor of science degree, civil engineering.
From Hinsdale:
Bradford Richards, bachelor of science degree, natural resources
Richard Schmeider of Burr Ridge received a bachelor degree recently from North Central College.
Caroline A. Hurd, a resident of Hinsdale, was named by Northeastern University to it’s dean’s list for the spring semester. Hurd is majoring in physical therapy.

Alexandra Palmer of Western Springs was named to the Merit List of Oxford College, the two-year liberal arts division of Emory University located in Oxford, Ga., for the 2012 spring semester.
Jillian Ione Keeve of La Grange, was among the graduates who earned degrees from Holy Family University in Philadelphia during the University’s commencement ceremonies recently. Keeve majored in math secondary education and received a bachelor of arts degree magna cum laude.

Western Springs resident Gwynneth Davidoff graduated from the Franklin W. Olin College of Engineering recently, earning a bachelor of science degree in engineering.
Sam Cushing of Oak Brook was named by the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign to its spring 2012 semester dean’s list as a freshman student there. Sam graduated from Hinsdale Central High School in 2011 as the President of the Senior Class. Sam is the son of Christy Dolan. He was very recently accepted to the Business School at UIUC. Sam is at Wake Forest College this summer doing a summer internship.
