Western Springs police blotter for June 25

The following incidents were listed among the official reports of area police departments. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination.
MOVING VIOLATION
Mark M. Fredericks, 45, of 214 Granite St., Joliet, was cited at 12:07 a.m. Saturday for driving on a suspended license, driving without insurance and having a loud or defective muffler during a stop at 48th Street and Wolf Road.
Gerzine Spence, 43, of 3729 Grand Ave., Brookfield, was cited at 9:51 p.m. Sunday for driving on a suspended license and having a suspended registration during a stop at Ogden and Gilbert avenues.
PROPERTY DAMAGE
Someone damaged two windows with a rock at 10:35 p.m. Friday on a vehicle parked on the 1300 block of Burlington Avenue. Entry wasn’t gained to the locked vehicle, and an estimate of the damage wasn’t available.
THEFT
A man drove away at 7:41 a.m. June 20 without paying $70.80 for gas from the Mobil gas station at 55th Street and Wolf. The driver was last seen headed east on 55th Street; further details of the man and his vehicle weren’t provided.
Someone stole a locked boys bike between 8:30 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m. Saturday from the 900 block of Walnut Street. The loss is estimated at $470.
Indian Head Park
DRUGS
An ambulance transported a New Lenox man to La Grange Hospital at about 9:30 p.m. June 19 after he allegedly admitted snorting heroin earler that day. The man was treated and released from the hospital. No charges were filed.
FALSE REPORT
Joan V. Workman, 51, of 6563 Shabbona, Indian Head Park, was arrested June 14 and charged with filing a false police report. On June 1, Workman had said someone burglarized her home and stole $30,000 worth of jewelry. During questioning by the police, Workman allegedly admitted she had placed the jewerly in her car and it was not missing. She was released on a $1,000 recognizance bond, with a court date Aug. 6.
