Pillars presents volunteer award

Joan Smothers received the Shirley Speciale award from the Pillars organization. The award, given for outstanding volunteerism, was named in honor of Shirley Speciale, a former board member, and community volunteer.
Smothers is an active volunteer with Pillars, serving on the Party for Pillars planning committee and is also the founder of the annual Pillars Historic House Tour.
