LA GRANGE — The LeaderShop welcomes two more program coordinators to round out its staff who are dedicated to shaping youth into today’s and tomorrow’s leaders.
Kim Anderson joins the staff after spending the past two years in the Peace Corps in Peru. She worked as a youth development facilitator to improve the welfare of her rural Andean community’s youth and families. During college, Anderson interned with the housing authority in the resident services department working with the afterschool program. Anderson received a bachelor’s degree in anthropology and sociology from Knox College in Galesburg in 2009.
Marco A. Lopez is an alumnus of The LeaderShop and a lifelong resident of Summit. He has spent over 10 years dedicated to making the city a better place to live, most importantly by working with the youth. He runs the National Hispanic Program in conjunction with Argo Community High School, a program which prepares students to give effective and well-versed speeches in the form of debate competition and offers students the opportunity to volunteer in the community. Lopez took psychology classes at Loyola University in Chicago.
