Among other business at their meeting Aug. 27, Western Springs trustees:
• learned Village President William Rodeghier proclaimed Sept. 19 No Text on Board Pledge Day.
“It’s promotes public safety, and it’s something we’re not going to have any trouble getting behind,” said Rodeghier. “Texting means your eyes are removed from the road for an average of five seconds, and it makes you about 25 percent more likely to have an accident. We encourage all drivers to take the pledge to never text and drive again.”
• unanimously approved a motion to disburse $46,329 for expenditures relating to improving and repairing the Timber Trails development.
“At the risk of sounding like a broken record, the annexation agreement [of Timber Trails] allows the village to be reimbursed its costs with connection to the development,” said Rodeghier. “Specifically with regards to the infrastructure improvements and other matters that pertain to the development.”
• approved a resolution for the release of an irrevocable standby letter of credit posted by the WSMC Partners, L.L.C. This is for phase 1 site improvements done to the Western Springs Office Center Development located at 4700 Commomwealth Ave. ~.
