NORTHLAKE — A man wearing an Oakland Athletics cap robbed a Northlake bank on Tuesday, the third area bank robbery in two days and at least the 117th of the year.
About 2:20 p.m., a man walked into the US Bank at 26 W. North Ave., Northlake, implied he had a gun and asked for cash. He did not show a gun but got away with an undisclosed amount of money, according to Northlake police.
The suspect is described as a 50-year-old Hispanic man, 5-foot-6 with a medium to heavy build, salt and pepper hair, and a goatee. He wore an orange T-shirt, khaki pants, gym shoes, glasses and an Oakland A’s baseball cap with a green and yellow bill.
The suspect drove away in a newer-model black Chevrolet pickup with an extended cab and hydraulics for a snow plow attached to the front.
Northlake police and the FBI are investigating, and anyone with information should call police at (708) 531-5755.
Editor’s note: An earlier version of this story misstated the town where the bank robbery happened.
