From costumed canines to festive felines and their owners, the La Grange Pet Parade offered something for every one of the thousands of spectators June 2 lining La Grange Road and Burlington Avenue.
The 66th annual parade featured the Medinah Black Horse Troop, the Jesse White Tumblers, marching bands, drill teams and members of Girls Scout troops celebrating the organization’s 100th anniversary in 2012.
TV anchor Rob Johnson from CBS Channel 2 served as grand marshal.
Festivities were expected to continue throughout the weekend with the Ahhh! La Grange Carnival and musical entertainment, as well as the unveiling of La Grange’s annual summer outdoor art exhibit, Hour Town La Grange -- Time Well Spent. Artists decorated 60 grandfather clocks, which have been bolted to sidewalks throughout town and will be auctioned to benefit charities in September.
