A 31-year-old Round Lake Park man has been arrested in connection with an attempted home invasion July 27 on Tanglewood Court in Indian Head Park.
Matthew J. LaFlamme of 757 Treeview Lane was arrested by Chicago police Jan. 27 for possession of heroin and was wanted in connection with the Indian Head Park incident, said police Sgt. Curt Novak.
“It was a great break in the case. We definitely wanted to catch this individual,” Novak said. “He was in charge of a group.”
A woman renting a townhouse on Tanglewood was surprised by four potential intruders July 27 and ran screaming from her home, Novak said. She wasn’t injured and no access was gained to her residence.
“It was a drug deal gone bad, and they got the wrong address,” Novak said.
The four were attempting to collect about $10,000 in a marijuana deal from a unit next door, Novak said.
LaFlamme was charged in Indian Head Park with trespassing and property damage, but Novak said the case is being reviewed to upgrade the charges to felony attempted home invasion. LaFlamme is being held in the Cook County Jail in lieu of $30,000 bond on the heroin charge.
