Workout in the Park
SELF magazine will host a Workout in the Park on June 2 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Butler Field in Grant Park, Chicago. The outdoor health, fitness and wellness festival includes beauty and fashion consultations, nutritional tips, and cutting-edge exercise trends. Tennis fundraiser
Oak Brook Racquet and Fitness Club will host their 8th Annual Hit for the Hospital fundraiser 2-8 p.m. June 8. This is a junior tournament for kids in middle school through college and includes tennis, prizes, pizza and fun. A suggested $40 donation will benefit Children’s Memorial Hospital. Luminescence

Race for ACES Event will take place 1:30-6 p.m. June 10 within the Springdale subdivision in Western Springs. Families, teams and individuals are welcome with a bike and helmet. Annual golf outing
DuPage Convalescent Center foundation will hold its ninth annual golf outing at 11 a.m. June 12 at Bloomingdale Golf Club, 181 Glen Ellyn Road, Bloomingdale. Fees are $175 for individual golfers; $700 per foursome; and $950 per foursome and hole sponsorship. Fees include golf with cart, lunch, libations and dinner. Premiere for PADS
“I Heart Shakey” and DuPage PADS, a nonprofit serving the homeless, have teamed up to announce a red carpet movie premiere at 5:30 p.m. June 13 at Hollywood Palms, 352 S. Route 59, Naperville. The family comedy, filmed mainly in DuPage County, stars Steve Lemme, Steve Guttenberg, Beverly D’Angelo and Alfonso Arau. Members of the cast will be in attendance for photo opportunities and autographs. Adult tickets are $20 and $15 for children 12 and under. Proceeds benefit DuPage PADS. Golf Outing
The 12th annual Eric and Kathy Charity Golf Outing, hosted by the co-hosts of WTMX-101.9’s morning show, will take place on June 15 with lunch at 11 a.m.; a shotgun start for golf at noon; and a dinner at 6 p.m. at Willow Crest Golf Club, Oak Brook Hills Marriott Resort, 3500 Midwest Road, Oak Brook. Obstacle Course
The Brookfield Chamber will hold its annual Insanity Run and Obstacle Course at 8 a.m. June 23. The first 300 runners will receive a T-shirt and crazy-good racer bags including zoo passes, water bottles and hygiene products. The course will wind its way through various parts of the village, including the downtown Brookfield Business district and start and end at Kiwanis Park. Garden Walk
LaGrange Highlands Woman’s Club will feature five gardens in its first Garden Walk from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. June 30. Net proceeds will benefit the club’s 2012/13 charity of the year, Team O’Connell, a 501(c)3 organization founded by the parents of Brady O’Connell, a local boy with cystic fibrosis, and dedicated to finding a cure for cystic fibrosis.
