INDIAN HEAD PARK — A taxi driver reported a man hailed his cab outside the Excalibur bar in downtown Chicago early Monday and asked him to drive him to Indian Head Park.

The man did not tell him an address, he just gave directions to the cabbie as he drove.

The passenger told the driver to pull into a residential driveway on the 11000 block of Edgebrook Lane in the Ashbrook subdivision. The passenger then exited at about 5 a.m. and said he had to get money for the $53 fare from his mother. The passenger went first to the front door of the home and then around to the back.

When the man did not return, the cabbie looked for him and discovered the home was empty and for sale. The taxi driver called the police and said he has a camera in the back of his cab and would be able to give a photo of the man to the police.

He described the passenger as a white male in his 20s, wearing a blue shirt and blue jeans.
