INDIAN HEAD PARK — An officer responding to a call about noisy teenagers in the Flagg Creek condominium parking lot at about 2:25 a.m. Tuesday reported smelling marijuana from a white Dodge Stratus with four people inside.

The Willowbrook canine unit was called to assist, and the police dog smelled drugs near the driver-side air vent. When the vent cover was removed, the police found a metal container used for grinding marijuana, which contained 3 grams of cocaine and a smaller amount of marijuana.

The driver, Rafael D. Silva, 18, of 6660 Brainard, Countryside, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. The officer also learned the Countryside police had an outstanding warrant for Silva for possession of marijuana.

The registered owner of the Stratus, Jacob D. Rogers, was in the back seat and allegedly told police a pipe for smoking marijuana found in the car was his. Rogers, 19, of 3505 Oak Park Ave., Apt. 1B, Berwyn, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

A boy and girl in the car were also taken to the police station where they were issued citations for violating curfew, before being driven home.
