Going to see Batman? Check your costume

HODGKINS — Going to see “The Dark Knight Rises” Batman movie at the The Quarry theaters in Hodgkins or Yorktown in Lombard? Better check what you wear.

AMC Loews movie theaters announced Friday they will not admit guests with face-concealing masks and will not allow fake weapons in the buildings.

“We want all our guests to feel comfortable at our theatres and we will be closely monotoring,” read a statement from the national chain, which in addition to The Quarry and Yorktown has theaters in Woodridge, Chicago Ridge and Cicero.

In Downers Grove, the Tivoli Theatre announced Friday afternoon it was taken precautions in light of the shooting.

“Effective immediately we will not allow backpacks or other large bags into the theatre,” a statement read. “In addition, we will not permit guests to wear face-covering masks that conceal their identity. We will continue to monitor the situation and adjust our security needs so that our guests may attend our theatres with confidence in their comfort and safety.”
